Silicone Shielding Elastomer with Silver-Plated Glass Beads
SSP-416-65 is a 65-durometer (Shore A), electrically-conductive silicone compound that’s filled with silver-plated glass beads and comparable to Parker Chomerics 1350 and 1310 materials for conductive elastomer gaskets.
MIL-DTL-83528 Type M
SSP-416-65 is designed to meet the requirements of MIL-DTL-83528 Type M for a silver-plated glass-filled silicone capable of 100 dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10 GHz with a continuous temperature range of -55°C to +160°C. This very conductive elastomeric material from Specialty Silicone Products (SSP) has a typical shielding effectiveness of 80 dB – 100 dB (typical industry value).
Conductive Elastomer Gaskets
SSP-416-65 is tan or gray in color and supplied as a fully-cured, conductive sheet stock or as a ready-to-mold compound. Uncatalyzed SSP-416-65 has an indefinite shelf life, but may need freshening after 1 – 2 years. Catalyzed SSP-416-65 has six-month shelf life, but is ready for press-cure molding.
