Silver-Copper Silicone Shielding Elastomer
SSP-547-65 is a 65-durometer (Shore A), electrically-conductive silicone compound that’s filled with silver-plated copper particles and comparable to Parker Chomerics 1273, 1270, 1217, and 1215 EMI materials for conductive elastomer gaskets.
MIL-DTL-83528 Type A
SSP-547-65 is designed to meet the requirements of MIL-DTL-83528 Type A for a silver-plated, copper-filled silicone capable of 110 dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10 GHz with a continuous use temperature range of range of -55°C to +125°C. This metal-filled silicone from Specialty Silicone Products (SSP) has a typical shielding effectiveness of 120 dB (typical industry value).
Conductive Elastomer Gasket Materials
SSP-547-65 silicone shielding elastomers are supplied as fully-cured, conductive sheet stock or as ready-to-mold compounds. Catalyzed raw materials are available for press-cure molding and have a shelf life of six months. Uncatalyzed materials have an indefinite shelf life, but may require freshening after 1 to 2 years.
