SSP-1808
DETAILS
AMS 3356E Silicone Rubber, 60 Durometer
SSP-1808 is a 60-durometer silicone rubber that meets the physical requirements in the AMS 3356E specification. This heat-cured elastomer resists deterioration by weathering and by high aniline point petroleum-based oils. It remains flexible under a defined temperature range. Because of excessive swelling, this aerospace silicone is not suitable for contact with gasoline or aromatic fuels and low aniline point petroleum-base fluids. SSP-1808 is brick red in color.
AMS 3356E Specification
The AMS 3356E specification covers silicone rubber in the form of sheets, strips, tubing, extrusions, and molded shapes. It’s primarily for parts that are required for operation or sealing from -55°C to 230°C (-67°F to 446°F). Examples include parts that need to provide piston engine oil resistance, low compression set, and controlled dielectric strength. SAE International, a professional association and standards-developing organization, defines Aerospace Material Specifications (AMS) like AMS 3356E.
AMS Shelf Life
This military and aerospace silicone has a shelf life of 6 months. Store below 80°F.
