SSP-2573-75 is a high-durometer, silver-plated copper EMI fluorosilicone that meets MIL-DTL-83528, Type C requirements and is QPL listed.

High-Durometer, Silver-Copper EMI Fluorosilicone

SSP-2573-75 is high-durometer EMI fluorosilicone that is filled with silver-plated copper particles. This electrically conductive gasketing material is part of the Defense Logistics Agency’s (DLA) Qualified Product List (QPL) for MIL-DTL-83528, Type C.

SSP-2573-75 has a typical shielding effectiveness of >110 dB at 20 MHz to 10 GHz (E-Field). Its volume resistivity (VR), a measure of an insulating material’s resistance to leakage current through its body, has a typical value of 0.002 ohm-cm.

MIL-DTL-83528 Type C EMI Silicone

MIL-DTL-83528, Type C covers high-durometer silver-plated, copper-filled silicones capable of 110 dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10 GHz with a continuous temperature range of -55°C to +125°C.

This U.S. military specification defines shielding effectiveness as the ability of an EMI gasket material to electrically bond a test cover panel to an enclosure flange such that the radiated radio frequency (RF) through a 24-in. x 24-in. (61-cm x 61-cm) is attenuated by the factors specified in the standard.

QPL-83528 EMI Gasket Material

SSP-2573-75 has passed qualification testing and been added to QPL-83528 for specific drawings and material types. DLA, the combat logistics support agency for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) maintains a qualifying list of manufacturer part numbers (PNs) that meet the requirements of MIL-DTL-83528.

SSP-2573-75 is supplied as fully cured, conductive sheet stock; continuous extrusion profiles; and ready-to-mold compounds. This EMI shielding material is tan color.
