SSP-502-60-V1 is a 60-durometer, very conductive, nickel-graphite shielding silicone that is flame-retardant and conforms to UL-94 V1.


Nickel-Graphite Silicone Shielding Flame Retardant Elastomer

SSP-502-60-V1 is a 60-durometer (Shore A), flame-retardant, very conductive silicone compound that’s filled with nickel-coated-graphite particles. Part of the SSP-502-series from Specialty Silicone Products (SSP), this particle-filled silicone conforms to UL-94 V1 and provides EMI shielding. 

UL-94 V1 Conformance

SSP-502-60-V1 is recommended for applications that require both electrical conductivity and flame resistance. This V1 UL-94 flammability rating for this nickel-coated graphite-filled elastomer means that burning stops within 30 seconds on a vertical specimen; drips of particles are allowed as long as they are not inflamed. 

Shielding Effectiveness Silver-Like Conductivity

SSP-502-60-V1 has a typical shielding effectiveness of 90 dB (typical industry value).  As part of SSP’s 502 series, this nickel-graphite silicone enables thinner, smaller, and lighter weight solutions while offering performance levels comparable to shielding silicones filled with silver-coated particles. 

Conductive Gasket Materials

SSP-502-60-V1 is supplied as a ready-to-mold compound; fully-cured, conductive sheet stock; and, for some formulations, as continuous rolls. This innovative elastomer is comparable to Parker Chomerics 6372 EMI material for conductive elastomer gaskets.
