Certificates of Analysis for MIL-DTL-25988 Fluorosilicones
SSP’s certificates of analysis (COAs) report the test results for a specific batch of materials. These documents don’t just confirm that our elastomers meet DoD’s MIL-DTL-25988 specification. Rather, our COAs provide the data from the quality testing that we perform at our Ballston Spa, New York (USA) facility. Because each batch of fluorosilicones is fully-certified, our ISO 9001:2015 company provides you with supply chain transparency and traceability. Each COA also contains the name of the SSP employee who performed the testing and the specific section of MIL-DTL-25988 that applies.
MIL-DTL-25988 is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) specification that covers oil- and fuel-resistant fluorosilicone elastomers for aeronautical and aerospace applications. It divides compliant fluorosilicones into different Types, Classes, and Grades. Type 1 is for O-rings and Type 2 is for molded parts (other than for compression seals) and for sheets, strips and extruded shapes. Class 1 materials are for general-purpose use. They are further divided into durometer-based Grades. MIL-DTL-25988 also includes Class 2 fluorosilicone elastomers for high-strength, general-purpose use.
