New EMI Sheet Mold Size Maximizes Material Yields
Specialty Silicone Products (SSP) supplies EMI shielding elastomers as fully-cured, conductive sheet stock and as continuous rolls. For gasket designers, converters, and fabricators, SSP’s tooling and molding capabilities mean shorter lead times and less material waste. SSP now offers 10-in. x 20-in. EMI sheet molds in thicknesses of .032, .062, and .093 inches. We also mold EMI sheets in custom sizes and supply continuous rolls with widths from 1 to 15 inches. SSP offers cut lengths from 1-ft. to 25-ft. long, too.
Industry-Standard EMI Sheet Sizes
SSP’s 10-in. x 20-in. EMI sheet molds allow our Ballston Spa, New York (USA) company to fill orders for industry-standard sheet sizes in the growing, global market for EMI gaskets. For design engineers, converters, and gasket fabricators, industry-standard sheet sizes can maximize material yields and minimize material waste. For example, SSP’s molding capabilities can eliminate waste from a 15” x 20” sheet mold where the dimensions of the final parts don’t match-up well with other sheet materials.
SSP’s success as a molder of EMI silicone sheets is also driven by our in-house tooling capabilities. Typically, compression molded EMI sheets take a long time to produce. Sheets with different thicknesses require different tooling, which can also add to lead times and costs. Using our in-house CNC equipment, however, SSP can create new tooling with short leads times at low cost or no cost. Because we’re your manufacturing partner rather than just a materials supplier, SSP can also produce custom molds.
Continuous Rolls of EMI Silicones
In addition to compression-molded sheets, SSP offers continuous rolls of EMI shielding silicones that are produced and cured continuously. SSP can manufacture 1000 ft. per day – the equivalent of 600 standard 15-in. x 20-in. sheets – with short lead times. SSP’s EMI elastomer roll stock ranges in width from 1 to 15 inches to support production with minimal material waste. For material converters and gasket fabricators who specialize in high-volumes, continuous rolls are an especially cost-effective choice.
Specialty Silicone Products (SSP) of Ballston Spa, New York (USA) supplies EMI shielding silicones in various form factors, including ready-to-mold compounds, so that design engineers, gasket fabricators, and material converters can get the greatest number of high-quality gaskets with the least amount of material waste.
